MMEA chopper crashes in Kuala Selangor, four rescued


KUALA SELANGOR: A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) helicopter has crashed in the waters of Pulau Angsa here.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said they were alerted to the incident at around 10am on Tuesday (March 5) through a distress call from the public.

"Our checks revealed that four people on board were rescued by nearby fishermen.

"The helicopter involved has been identified as an AgustaWestland AW139 owned by the MMEA," he said when contacted.

Selangor MMEA said a statement regarding the incident will be issued soon.
